Would you like to book an appointment for physiotherapy, rehabilitation or an assessment of a movement-related problem? At Salbar Fysiotherapie, physiotherapist Boris Feldman personally assesses and treats you. In most cases, you do not need a referral from your GP.

When can you book an appointment?
You can seek help for problems involving, among other things:
- the back;
- the neck;
- shoulder;
- the arm and elbow;
- the hip;
- the knee;
- the ankle and foot;
- muscles and tendons;
- radiating or nerve-related symptoms;
- sports injuries;
- recovery after surgery;
- persistent or recurring movement-related problems.
Unsure whether physiotherapy is appropriate for your symptoms? You do not have to assess this yourself beforehand. At the first appointment, I consider whether your symptoms fall within the scope of physiotherapy and whether further assessment by a GP or specialist may be needed.
What happens at the first appointment?
The first appointment involves more than treatment alone. I first want to understand what is happening. We discuss, among other things:
- your current symptoms;
- when the symptoms began;
- which activities are difficult;
- what makes the symptoms worse or better;
- relevant medical history;
- previous investigations or treatments;
- and what you ultimately want to be able to do again.
This is followed by a focused physical examination. Depending on your symptoms, I may assess, for example:
- movement;
- strength;
- mobility;
- coordination;
- capacity to tolerate activity;
- neurological function;
- and movements that provoke or ease your symptoms.
After the assessment, I discuss my findings with you. We then decide together on the most appropriate next step.
Will I be treated straight away?
If the assessment provides sufficient clarity and treatment is appropriate at that point, the first treatment can often begin during the same appointment. Sometimes it is wiser to gather additional information first or contact your GP or specialist. I therefore do not automatically treat every problem. Assessment comes first, then treatment.
Clinical experience since 1996, ongoing professional development
Boris Feldman has worked as a physiotherapist since 1996. His years of clinical experience are complemented by ongoing professional development and further study of assessment and treatment methods. At Salbar Fysiotherapie, experience and up-to-date knowledge inform a thorough assessment, clear explanations and a treatment plan tailored to your symptoms and goals.

Do you need a referral?
In the Netherlands, you usually do not need a referral for routine physiotherapy. You can therefore book an appointment directly. For certain conditions or reimbursement under basic health insurance, a referral from a GP or specialist may be required. Do you already have a referral? Bring it to your first appointment or send it in advance.
What should you bring?
For your first appointment, it is useful to bring:
- valid identification;
- a referral, if applicable;
- relevant medical letters;
- reports from previous examinations;
- information about operations or previous treatments;
- any relevant MRI, X-ray or ultrasound information.
Do you not have this information? You can usually still make an appointment.
Clothing during the assessment
For a thorough physiotherapy assessment, the affected body area often needs to be visible and able to move freely. Please wear comfortable clothing. Sportswear may be useful for knee, hip or sports-related problems.
Appointment via WhatsApp

You can also use WhatsApp for a brief question or to book an appointment. Preferably send: your name, your telephone number, a short description of your symptoms, and your preferred day or time. Medical symptoms cannot always be assessed reliably through WhatsApp. A physical examination is often necessary for a diagnosis or treatment advice.
Telephone contact
Would you prefer to call? I cannot always answer the phone straight away during treatment. Please leave a message or send a WhatsApp message. I will contact you as soon as I can.

Changing or cancelling an appointment
Unable to attend your appointment? Please let us know as early as possible. When an appointment is cancelled late, the reserved treatment time often cannot be offered to another patient. Urgent care and medical symptoms
Salbar Fysiotherapie is not an emergency care service. Are you experiencing serious or sudden medical symptoms, such as:
- severe shortness of breath;
- chest pain;
- sudden paralysis;
- sudden severe loss of neurological function;
- signs of serious illness;
- or another medical emergency?
Contact your GP, the out-of-hours GP service, or call 112 in an acute emergency.
Unsure whether physiotherapy could help?
You do not need to know exactly which treatment you need beforehand. That is part of my job. At your first appointment, we assess what is happening, what is limiting you, whether physiotherapy is appropriate, and which approach is likely to be most useful.
