At Salbar Fysiotherapie in Vinkeveen, you receive personal treatment from physiotherapist Boris Feldman. The cost of physiotherapy depends on your insurance, the type of appointment and the treatment duration. Do you have supplementary physiotherapy cover, and does Salbar have a contract with your health insurer? In most cases, treatment is then billed directly to your insurer, within the terms of your policy. If you have no supplementary cover or insufficient cover, the self-pay fee applies.

How much does my first appointment cost?
This depends on your situation.
You attend without a referral
Physiotherapy is directly accessible in the Netherlands. This means that in many cases you can book an appointment without a GP referral. During the first appointment, I carry out screening and a physiotherapy assessment. We then discuss:
- what is likely to be influencing your symptoms;
- whether physiotherapy is appropriate;
- which treatment I recommend;
- and the expected course of care.
You already have a referral
Do you have a referral from your GP or specialist? Please bring it with you or send it in advance. For some conditions or chronic indications, a referral may be required for health insurance reimbursement.
You attend for follow-up treatment
For follow-up appointments, the fee for the agreed treatment duration applies. If your treatment is covered through a contracted health insurer, it is billed in accordance with the arrangements with that insurer.
Is physiotherapy covered by insurance?
For adults, standard physiotherapy is usually covered by supplementary health insurance. The number of covered sessions varies by policy. Always check:
- whether your supplementary insurance includes physiotherapy;
- how many sessions are covered per calendar year;
- how many sessions you have already used;
- and which conditions your insurer applies.
Your health insurance remains your own agreement with the insurer. If you are unsure, we therefore recommend checking your policy terms.
Physiotherapy under basic health insurance
For certain medical indications, physiotherapy may be covered under basic health insurance, subject to conditions. This applies, for example, to conditions on the statutory list for long-term or chronic physiotherapy. For adults, the initial sessions often have to be paid through supplementary insurance or by the patient before basic insurance cover begins. The exact rules depend on the diagnosis and the applicable health insurance terms. During the initial assessment, I can discuss which situation is likely to apply to you.
Insurance deductible
Physiotherapy covered exclusively by supplementary insurance is generally not subject to the mandatory deductible. If physiotherapy is covered under basic health insurance, the statutory deductible may apply. If you are unsure, check your policy or contact your health insurer.
Children under 18
Different reimbursement rules apply to children and young people under 18. A number of physiotherapy sessions are covered under basic health insurance. Additional cover may be available for certain conditions. The exact reimbursement depends on the medical indication and policy terms.

Physiotherapy with a contracted provider
Salbar Fysiotherapie has contracts with various health insurers for 2026. With a contracted insurer, treatment is billed directly when it qualifies for reimbursement under your policy. For 2026, Salbar has agreements with insurers including: CZ Achmea / Zilveren Kruis Menzis Zorg en Zekerheid DSW RMO Salland Eucare Contracts may change each calendar year. If you are unsure, always check the current arrangements before starting a new course of treatment.
Non-contracted health insurers
Does Salbar Fysiotherapie have no contract with your health insurer? You can still receive treatment from me. You will receive an invoice at the self-pay rate. Depending on your policy, you may be able to claim part of this amount back from your insurer yourself. Reimbursement varies considerably between insurers and policies. Salbar therefore cannot guarantee the amount your insurer will reimburse you. Ask your insurer beforehand if this is important to you.
Why do fees differ between health insurers?
Health insurers enter into separate contracts with physiotherapy practices. These may involve different fees and conditions. The amount an insurer pays a practice therefore need not equal the practice’s self-pay fee. Your own insurance premium also does not directly determine how much the physiotherapist receives per session.
A policy covering many sessions does not always mean unlimited physiotherapy
Some supplementary insurance policies cover a large number of physiotherapy sessions. This does not automatically mean that every session remains medically necessary as long as you still have sessions available under your policy. As a physiotherapist, I must be able to substantiate:
- why treatment is still needed;
- which treatment goals we are working towards;
- what progress is being made;
- and whether continuing physiotherapy is still appropriate.
Your insurance determines what can be reimbursed financially. The physiotherapy assessment determines whether treatment is clinically needed. These are two different matters.
Treatment duration
A standard appointment lasts approximately 25 minutes. If your situation requires more time, a longer appointment can be scheduled. A longer appointment may be useful for:
- a detailed assessment;
- complex symptoms;
- extensive rehabilitation;
- multiple functional limitations;
- a combination of treatment and training.
A longer appointment is agreed with you in advance.
Cancelling an appointment
Unable to attend your appointment? Please let us know as early as possible. Reserved treatment time that is not cancelled promptly cannot always be offered to another patient. Missed appointments or appointments cancelled too late may therefore be charged to you and are not covered by health insurance.
Payment
When treatment cannot be billed directly to a health insurer, you receive an invoice or pay using the agreed payment method. Would you like to submit the invoice to your insurer? Keep it for your own records.
Do you have questions about reimbursement?
I am happy to help with general information about physiotherapy reimbursement. However, the final decision about reimbursement always rests with your health insurer. Do you have a specific policy and want to know exactly how many sessions or what percentage is covered? Contact your insurer and ask, for example: “What reimbursement will I receive for physiotherapy at Salbar Fysiotherapie in Vinkeveen if the practice has no contract covering my policy?” This will give you an answer specific to your own insurance.
Making an appointment
You usually do not need a referral for standard physiotherapy. At your first appointment, we discuss your symptoms, carry out an assessment and determine whether physiotherapy is the right next step. Salbar Fysiotherapie Boris Feldman – physiotherapist Scholeksterlaan 2 3645 KC Vinkeveen
